Ages 3 – 5 years: 10am – 11am
Ages 6 – 9 years: 11am – 12pm
The Sydney Opera House is a great example of expressionistic architecture. During this workshop children will:
- Learn about the history of the opera house (the project took 10 years longer and 95 million more dollars than expected)
- Create their own expressionistic art work using alcohol ink on a ceramic tile (there are 1 million ceramic tiles covering the Sydney Opera House).
- Be brought through a series of interactive activities teaching them musical concepts, terminology, and exposing them to Opera music (two examples below).
The content for this workshop is the same for both age groups but the manner in which it is presented will be different. Older children will have more freedom during our art project and be provided a more educational rather than sensorial approach to our activities.
* This workshop is a part of a four week Passport Program. If you are interested in signing your child(ren) up for the entire program please click the link provided.
