Cultured Kids supports Uganda

Last Spring a group of children enrolled in one of our Passport Programs worked on preparing a package and letters to send to families and children in Fort Portal, Uganda. At the same time Cultured Kids held a month long fundraiser in April to support an organization called Foster Initiatives for Community Development (FIFCODE) in Fort Portal, Uganda. This organization provides widows and children the necessary training, supplies, counseling, and financial support needed to survive in an environment and culture that would expect demise after the loss of their husband/father; the provider.
FIFCODE empowers women to believe in their ability to not only survive but to thrive. It also provides a community that shares one another’s burdens. We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve this community and to come up along side FIFCODE’s leaders, Thaddeo and Ithungu Peregia.
Thaddeo recently emailed with some images and an update on what FIFCODE has been able to do with the $200 that was raised and the package that was sent:
Above some FIFODE community members pose with some of the supplies that were mailed (seeds, art supplies, gardening tools, etc)…

Cultured Kids provided this young mother the ability to start on the join into the joint pig project.
We look forward to hearing more about what FIFCODE is able to accomplish with our help. We continue to plan for another fundraiser for FIFCODE next April and also joyfully away the opportunity to bring a group of students to Fort Portal, Uganda to serve this community in a more tangible way.
We are currently running our 2017 fundraiser for FIFCODE. Please consider donating to one of the following areas:
